Basic of Breathing Technique

First time I learn about inner power when I was in college. Although I had been interested in this matter since Junior High, but till then there was no method of exercises that suited with my feeling, thought and principle. Most people said that inner power related with a lot of with magic or ritual.

I was learning the basic of inner power. In the basic learning, we learn how to generate and transfer energy to our body. We used to call it triangle method. First, inhale for at least 5 second. Second, hold our breath for at least 5 second. Third, exhale from our mouth until all of them out. This process should be done simultaneously. Maybe they called it triangle method because if we draw the process, it could form a picture of triangle :-). Many of school of martial arts using inner power know this method.

Begin with stomach breathing, It was said that this method use for transfer our inner power from "the center" of our inner to our stomach. The difference in this step is we inhale through nose and exhale through mouth. In the other breathing step we inhale through mouth and exhale through mouth. If we already feel our stomach become warm, then we can change to another step.

The next step is chest breathing. In this step we try to transfer the energy to our chest. This process is done until wee feel the warm move from our stomach to our chest. Now, we can transfer the energy to any part of our body.

The hardest step is diaphragm breathing. In this step, we breathe using both stomach and chest at the same time. The purpose of this process is to increase the inner power.
